First off, I want to say a huge thank you to the author for allowing me to be a part of this ARC team! Second, I really want to talk about how much care she shows for her readers. The opening pages warn you of spicy chapters (in case you want to skip over them without missing any of the actual plot), and when heavy themes show up, she even labels those chapters as well so you can be mindful of the topics and choose to skip them if needed. I love that so much! 🥹
If you love a good forbidden romance or a guard/princess trope... absolutely SNAG THIS UP! 🛡️👑 This book also gives you a little magic, mystery, and a whole lot of DRAMA right from the very beginning! I could NOT put it down!!
I can’t wait for book 2 to be released because my heart absolutely CANNOT handle how this book ended!!!! I need MORE! 💔😭

This story left me an emotional wreck in the best way. Forbidden love, age gap, princess and guard. There are so many things woven into this story that make it absolute gold. I need the next book ASAP, because I need to know there will be a resolution.
I cried. I know it isn't the end, and there is more to come, but the ending of book one took me out and I have a void inside where this story ripped a piece of me out. Hazie, girl, I love your masterful writing, the cliffhanger and all. But I pray there is a happy ending coming in the future.

All I can say is wow, wow, wow! This book had me hooked all the way through and I absolutely loved it!
The relationship between Aza and Jahar was beautiful and a 'will they get together, won't they' story, which even though it happened towards the end of the book, was perfectly timed and wasn't rushed, it was spot on!
The ending though! I never saw that coming and I can't stop thinking about it! I really can't wait to read the next book as I need to know what happens next!
There are trigger warnings in the book and certain chapters have them but they are done in such a way that if you don't read that chapter, you don't miss any of the story.
